Typical....just typical  & a houseful tommorow:eek:

Anyways...the boiler fires, burner lights ok stays on for 3 seconds then shuts off, it does this 3 times then the flame failure LED lights up.
Too late to do anything plumber wise til Monday  so does anyone have any inkling as to the fault?
Thanks for any advice/help & ooh happy Christmas
Tim.

NB can anyone recommend a decent replacement combi?

does your condense pipe run externally, if so could be frozen or just choked up

It does actually, however i drained the condensate vessel (the side with the drain plug in it) still no good :( i can take the condensate pipe right off & nothing comes out is this right? or does the vessel purge when a certain level is reached?
Thanks for your time matey it is appreciated.

Thanks.....any more ideas chaps

Merry Christmas.....at least me kitchens warm

There can be several causes but apart from condensate blockages are all gas/combustion related.

Many independents would come out on Saturday or Sunday but usually for a slightly higher cost and they are unlikely to have any spare parts in stock.

Hi Tony thanks for the reply,

I switched on the boiler yesyterday & it fired & is working of sorts.
It seems to be ignoring the Baxi Intellistat (room stat) & is continually on, also the desired temp on the intellistat is half of what it should be i.e dial is set to the 22deg C position but the stat is showing 11deg C :( could it indicate a main PCB fault on the boiler?

Cheers.
Tim.

I don't know WTF is going on, everything seems to have sorted itself Intellistat now showing correct desired temp, boiler is firing as it should.
Beats me :?:
I'll post if something else pops up.
Thanks to all who replied.
Tim.

Was the condensate pipe blocked or frozen?

Perhaps its just thawed now?

Tony

All condensate pipes were clear.
The condensate vessel is divided into 2, 1 side connected to the combustion chamber this fills & spills over into the other side, this side of the chamber has a pipe running part way up, the condensate spills over into this pipe & out, all looked to be ok the condensate levels were quite low but to be sure i drained the vessel, i don't know if this had an effect because it was one of the first things i tried, if it did it took 2 days.
It beats me
Thanks again.
Tim.

Its a bit late for you now but you should not have refitted the condens trap empty.

That creates a clear gasway between the combustion chamber and the condens drain.

It should always be filled with water before the boiler is put back into use.

But did you pour water down the drain when you were doing that to ensure it was clear? Perhaps it was blocked frozen?

Thanks again Tony,

The boiler again is ignoring the Intellistst, do you think it could be the PCB?

Before I even thought of a PCB I would want to be 110% sure the Intellistat was not at fault ( and that it was correctly programmed and connected ).

The intellistat has been fine up til now so i know it's connected ok, as for programming, i've reset the Intellistat using the little pin-hole reset button, still the same, so unless there is a sevice menu everything looks ok???

Tim.

The baxi intellistats are notoriously unreliable. I would vouch it is this that is causing your issues.

Get someone out who knows what their doing and get it checked.....as agile says it may be something tho you can't touch
