I guess plumbers don't do email.....

Sadly my plumber of 20 has retired and I need a new one to change my central heating pump.
I asked my neighbours for a recommendation but lucky (for them) they haven't used one in years.
So I decided to go via the Which? recommend a local tradesman website.
I prefer to email people so I chose the nearest 3 with an email address to ask for a quote. 2 weeks went by and nada so I went on to the Kent Trading Standards website and fired off 2 more emails. 1 week later still nada.

A sad state of affairs really.

Too busy doing emergency burst pipes I guess....

Anyway any plumber out there want to come and change my Grundfos pump? I'm in Borough Green Kent? Or recommend one for me.

BTW what's the average going rate these days per hour for a plumber?

You could always go to your local plumbers merchant & ask for a recomendation.
The lads in the shop will bite your hand off, what an easy job.

I guess you're right. Like you said easy money.

What's the going rate these days then for a plumber?

If the pump iso valves are intact with no signs of leakage then you should be looking at between £60 - £120 labour only.

Iso valves are there and do appear to turn off.

My plumber for the last 20 years I should have said .....only charged £30 per hour but maybe he was working twice as slowly

Thats a fair price seeing as what can appear an easy job. A decent Grundfos is 60 notes now.

Actually he was kind of semi-retired anyway. Only did work for his favourite customers.

Actually I've already bought the pump in anticipation of it finally conking out.
So how much of that charge is labour?
