Clicking radiator

Just one of my rads is making a clicking sound - not constantly just once in a while. It clicks continuously for a few minutes and then just stops. the rads are all on. It sounds a little like metal on metal rather than an actual clicking. The sound is very regular in terms of about every 2 seconds.

Any ideas?

It has got a TRV as do all of the rads. This is the only one that clicks. My estimate about frequency of clicks and times was wrong though - it's probably 2 or 3 clicks very second - its just done it. The rad is warm when it's doing it and it sounded like it was coming from the middle of the rad.

the rad heats up fine and is hot all over - it really isn't anything more than a slight annoyance at the moment - just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something that needed attention.
