I have taken all the advice I have received from this forum and doubled my budget for a boiler and will not go with a ferroli from Wickes.

My options are:

1)Worcester 37 cdi
2)Baxi Duo - tec combi 33 HE
3)Valliant 837eco tec plus

Advice welcomed.

Many Thanks

Vaillant, the tech support is poor at the moment but the boilers dont often cause much concern

out of those 3 vaillant. For a cheaper alternative I'd recommend a GW ultracom 38cxi.

Baxi........same heat ex as the vaillaint, better pump than the vaillant, and brass bodies on the manifolds rather than plastic stuff that pin holes. Also no crap hoses with jubiliees that spring leaks. Should it go wrong, heat team are far superior than Vaillants after sales care.

The Worcester would be fine but i dont like the aluminium heat ex they use.

If everyone in the OP's position had access to page 29 of this month's Gas Safe mag, they'd perhaps waste less time getting involved with boiler choice and concentrate on a decent installer.

Maybe the customer in the featured article overlooked the scandalous workmanship because the Worcester got the thumbs up on a forum.

the pump is grundfos the same I believe, the blocks are brass, and there are no jubilee clips....doing well there !
