Hi im just wondering if this is possible, we are installing a whirpool bath and we are a little unsure of regs etc

Would it be possible to go from a junction box which is inside the airing cupboard that inside the bathroom, to an rcd which the whirpool bath connects to?

but the junction box that inside the cupboards is on the ring main of sockets and the boiler connects on this?

thanks in advance

Are you telling us that the j/b is part of the ring main and the boiler takes a feed from it or are you asking us. The use of ?? makes it unclear.

It would be sensible to keep a rcd fused spur in the airing cupboard and then run the flex from the whirlpool pump in to the airing cupboard and connect in a dry clear service accessable location.

Your are not meant to spur off a spur, so if the boiler is a spur off the ring then you can't / shouldn't take a feed from the same place on the ring.

Unfortunately you will need to run the feed from a ring socket position which hasn't already got a spur off it. This can be done in 1.5mm TE since the rcd fused spur will have a 13 amp fuse limit.

Hi

ive just looked at the wiring, the feed comes from upstairs, into a fused switch, this is when the boiler is spur from, the connection then goes to a double socket, and then back to Junction box above the boiler and this goes upstairs with other cable?

so would it be possilble to come from the junction box to a rcd?then from the rcd to the bath?

is this enough information? thanks
