Hi, I need to get a new compact double k2 rad approx 300x2500 or 400x2000 (around 8000Btu +) because the size is a little unusual Im going to have to order it in, unless I go for a 'Prorad' which I can collect locally but have been advised against.
So given the choice from what's available on the market today what would any pro plumbers out there chose for their own homes?

fitted some customer bought prorads the other day, bit cheap and nasty. Will still do the job but poor quality paint job and covers were all over the place. Go for stelrads or for cheaper option centrerads.

Thanks guys, was thinking along the lines of Stelrad so I think thats decided it for me. :)
Wouldn't what Idealnumber1????

Myson for me..........much better finish and packaged much better. With Stelrads it's a lottery if they make it to your job scratch and dent free.

Fot budget radiators the new Centerbrand (plumbcenter) rads are good.

I dont have problem with delivery wether PTS or Grahams are delivering any stock that is scratched will be collected and new replacement sent out,but i cant remember a time when this has happened

hey must employ gorillas as delivery drivers up in harrogate :D :D

Thank very much-on the subject of Valves I always try to use Pegler Terriers but if I want to use a TRV does anyone know if Peglers TRVs are as good as their other standard valves and if not what would you guys go for??

PS. Thanks for the tip M, Discountheating has the best prices by far that I could find, but when I went to order it they said its a minimum order of 5 rads!! Aaaaaahhhhh...... the search continues

From the odd prices i checked on discounted heating basically they are using plumbcentre packs with a bit added on

Take a look at the radiators from Wickes, they are very reasonably priced.
They can be hung as a roundtop radiator or seamtop, you can buy the grills for them if you want to fit them but they look nice when fitted as a roundtop.

They are made by Quinn & have a 10 year guarantee.

Thanks guys will take a look at those in Wicks but Namsag in this case Discoutheating are doing the Stelrad 300×2500 £164.77 inc VAT delivered and the quote I just got off the local Plumb Center for the same rad is £210!
