hi all.

new on here and as with most ive come with a problem.

i have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF320 (1200 Spin)

i bought it from a guy that had been keeping it in a damp outbuilding, got it home and plugged it in

i started it it got halfway through a rinse cycle when it made a loud pop/bang then stopped and the power light and the top 2 lights next to the soap tray started flashing.

opened the washer up to fing everything damp and wet.

im an electrical engineer by trade, removed the control module to find the uln2003 blown up.

i replaced it and dried out the machine for a couple of days.

i finally got around to rebuilding it tonight, when i plug it in the 2 afroe mentioned lights just flash repeatedly and it wont do anything.

any ideas?

cheers scott

hi thanks for that, how are the lights numbered? 1 at the top and 4 at the bottom?

if so i have a communication error, what could cause that?

cheers

yes thats correct , it means the top pcb and bottom one are not talking to each other ,unplug the top pcb for 2 mins and try again. if it dont work then one or both pcbs are faulty .i dont know which component is at fault i would just plug in a new pcb at the top then the bottom one . exchange pcb from a company called emw in nottingham is your best bet and cheap they test the pcbs and tell you which one is faulty.

It is possible the new pcb is not programmed, if you change the main pcb at the bottom you may require a specialist tool to programme it
