Jigsaw recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good jigsaw at a reasonable price. I had a Lidl one but it never cut accurately and now part of the casing has broken so it's going back.

I bought a makita 4329 last year as it was on offer for 30 quid with a few free blade sets and my 20 year old B&D was cutting everything with a 5deg draft. I use it a decent bit and like it. That said a jig-saw is one thing you can probably skimp on and still get a decent one and spend your pennies on a better drill or other tool

it all depends on your budget and how much you will use it and for what sort of work.ive got a mid range dewalt and it does all i need it to do.
 
Jigsaws rarely cut accurately. They are designed for cutting wavy line! Plus the wrong blade type, no. of teeth, blunt, settings on the machine, push to hard etc can all make it wander.

If you are buying Lidl I presume you are on a budget, if so then get a Black n Decker or Bosch. Yes I said Black and Decker.

only prob i had with my old B&D was the brush' kept burning out
 
If you want a reasonable one at a cheap price go to B&Q and look at their MacAllister jigsaws. IIRC you can pick up one with a laser sight and quick-release blade change system for under £50, and they have a three year warranty too
 
Are MacAllister any good? Model no. MJS500L with a three year guarantee for £35.

Bosch are about £20 more for a similar spec. model but only a one year guarantee - is it worth the extra?
 
I have a cheap bosch green jigsaw and its great, £3.00 at a car boot sale, almost new, it came with a packet of the wrong blades :D
 
get the bosch over a mccrapister any day. You'll spend at least the difference in petrol money taking it back 4 times within that warranty period!
