It has a 15mm v/f to header tank which worked ok when i had the old servowarm boiler but since fitting a potterton profile had major probs with air.

In his profile ;) . The vent from the cylinder to the domestic hot water is wrong. - sloping down . The pump is wrong - hanging down . In short it all wants ripping out. And doing properly

Totally agree with you on that Nige. Rip it out, start again & upgrade controls, maybe even fit some pipe clips while your at it.

OK found the pics, love them manual 3 port valves, can you still get them?

Cheers for the info,I see what you mean.
So if I alter the vent pipe so its sloping up and level the pump this might recify the problem.
Also do you think fitting a 22mm v/f to the header tank will help???
