you are just as bad you halfwit.
no actually i'm not unlike you who has to resort to these sort of stupid answers.

there is aperfectly good reason for recommending the 1 company i wouldn't normally support in any fashion and it quite simple

1. they know the faults of the boilers. not all RGI's do.
2. their engineers are likely to have the required spares on their van. Again as independent engineers we carry regular spares but not specific spares for an Ideal unless we see them regularly
3. Ideal offer a fixed price repair. something that at present we cannot do as the spares are expensive in relation to the price Ideal pay.

if there is more than 1 fault which sadly there often is with Ideal boilers then the customer could be waiting sometime as a wait for a spare can be several days fix the first problem only to find a 2nd and again a few days wait. hardly good for anyone.

so on this i would say get Ideal to see to it.

thankfully i haven't sunk as low to join the CC.

more likely you aren't registered so can't!! it is nice to have a section where we can discuss things in an adult manner without silly little name calling episodes like we have here!

I know you have issues with Ideal Kev,for good reason. You are perfectly correct in saying theres often more than one thing wrong, quite often, when ive gone to an isar etc that has come in on an instant cover/breakdown,ive had to replace PCB,PHEX,diverter, waterset (s)
condense trap,AAV ign/det probes, coathangers, etc etc, numerous trips to the van, gawd knows how long it would take if someone with no spares stock had to go.
Usually the boilers have never been serviced or inspected, typically new build, untill all of a sudden they dont work, and custard starts to panic.

thanks Garfield
i always put the customer first as i have in this instant. love a company or loath them if they can do the job in a more cost effective/less time consuming way then i will say use them. customers really on honesty and will stay loyal if you take care not to fleece them.
unfortunately some on here can only resort to insulting people as they aren't capable of seeing the wood for the trees!!

Well you shouldn't have to wait too long - I just got a call to say an engineer can come tomorrow - result :D

Spot on there Kev!
I sub to BG one a year for a small period of time. Re-plenish van stock, & get paid well for fixing (or installing) the boilers Im given. :D

I put on the uniform, do the neccessary and pick up so many jobs from neighbours when they realise Im only a sub and are registered seperately.

Good old BG. My location is UAE but Im here this time of year to earn the 'roubles'.

Flooze

 keep dreaming.

perhaps i should finally drag my arse into the CC to upset your cosy little apple cart.

Gentlemen, this is a public forum where members of the public can view disagreements between RGI's. If you are qualified Nickso, then perhaps you should join the CC and air your grievances there.
If you are not qualified, then, as in one of your latests posts, you informed the OP that it was safe for him to change a Suprima PCB which involves combustion chamber work and retort to 'slagging' off other RGI's who disagreed, may I respectfully suggest you learn to be gracious to suitably qualified engineers.

Most RGI's try and stop this advise and the same 2 posters come up time and time again. The Mods trust us to report it.... which we do - frequently, and yet the gas advise continues. I have yet to see a 'yellow card' to both of these posters, let alone a ban threatened. The Mods are MODERTORS, whereas we are here giving advice and connot be responsible for idiotic advise. :!:

Flooze.

perhaps i should finally drag my fat BG a**e into the CC to upset your cosy little apple cart.

Daggers at dawn.

and i get accused of being childish? get a life floosy. unless you have been previously banned and are now here under a new name you need to butt out of the forum politics game until you have a clue whats going on.

so what if the public can view disagreements? what difference does it make?

of course im qualified, but being qualified doesnt mean i have to join the CC to kiss arse or give advice in that forum. neither does it mean i have to agree with whatever you or any other RGI has to say on the idea of a DIY'er changing a pcb on a suprima. it also doesnt mean i have to be gracious to others who have previously not been gracious to me or others in this forum.

the same advice goes to you that floosy was given above, like it or not there is an awful lot of history you are not aware of if you are a new member, i suggest you hold your tongue until you are know what you are talking about.
