Up until last Sunday everything fine. Hot rads and water. Monday had a problem with the EP2000 controller which also blew the fuse.

Replaced the controller with an EP2002 and it seemed to work in that the lights came on and boiler fired up. However no heat to rads.

Called British Gas. Very efficient guy came out and diagnosed a broken pump. He replaced this and things seemed to work except that the water temp in the pipes either side of the pump was low. Easy to handle, which was not how it used to be.

He came back and changed the pump again as well as the thermostat. A bit better, but still only medium hot pipes. When he removed the thermostat for a bit it all seemed to be back to normal, but he had to reinsert the probe and we are back to warm but not rads. Any ideas?

The Ranco boiler Stat can be adjusted.

Quite common, but its tricky to do - if yours needs it of course.

Flooze.

Pump installed the wrong way round???

Thanks. I reversed the pump and it seems to perform better. However, the electrical connections are now below the pump body. Would this be a good idea when a possible water leak would drip into the electrical box?

Would it be possible to reverse the pump direction via the wiring?

Isolate the pump valves remove the 4 allen screws holding the pump motor to the body, rotate the body 180* 7 refit and tighten the allen screws, open valves chewck for leaks and hey-presto!!

BG engineers probably only get 5mins to change a pump so they don't have time to observe the direction of flow before starting work!! ;)
