Hoping someone can help with this.
The cable on my mum-in-laws electric reclining chair has gotten squashed and damaged under the chair over time as the chair has been shunted around her room in her sheltered flat. The copper strands are almost visible so i have taken the cable away so she cant use it.
Can anyone advise where i can start looking for a new one?
The chair is powered from a standard 13a plug & socket into a transformer and there is another "free" cable that plugs into the transformer and the other end plugs into the connection under the chair, this is cable that needs replacing but it`s a type i have not seen before. It has male and female moulded connectors at opposite ends, the male has two pins of 1 x flat & 1 x round with the female being a socket type of the same sizes.
Sorry this is dragging on a bit but i dont know how else to describe the thing.
The transformer label has a lot of tech stuff on it (german & english) and the only info i recognise from it is 240v 50hz and Sek.24v with the a/c squiggly line after. I take it this means it is 24v output.?
If anyboby can help I will gladly supply more info from the label.
I am ok with basic DIY electrics and nowadays the little electrical shop on the corner in every town that could help with these things is long gone so her i am.
