Whilst fitting a new sink at a clients house I commented about the noise the washing machine was making and thought the transit bracket handn't been removed as the noise was coming from within when held still.

Up on inspection the bracket had been removed and there were no noticeable problems with the spin etc. The only thing I did notice was the springs on top (two of them to front and back) seemed pretty feeble and were allowing the drum to move more than I would expect. Is this correct? or is it just down to maybe an uneven load, the client said it's always been that noisy.

As we don't know which particular make & model you are talking about it is a little difficult to respond to your question. But if the owner isn't concerned then why worry about it? Springs are not usually an issue (unless one is broken). Could just be poor leveling or tired shock absorbers. Golden rule....if it ain't broke don't fix it :D

Yeah, I suppose your right. She seemed fine with the noise, I wouldn't be. So I'll just tell her to monitor it.

Cheers
