The boiler stopped giving hot water for long when the tap was turned on, I did some research and everyone told me its the divertor valve, so I replaced it with a Giaonni type F, fitted it fine, tested the water three times, boiling hot.

All I then did was to proceed to put all the covers back on and check the water one last time, to my horror, now the boiler won't fire up when the tap is turned on, even worse I have no central heating either as the boiler won't fire up when thats switched on either.

Really stressed as at least before I had heating now I have neither, any help much appreciated.

Have you checked that all the wires are connected and you havent loosened one of the pcb when you was putting the case back on.

Have you checked the front panel isn't fouling the gas valve knob? Unless it's fully out :) the main burner won't activate.

Hi have you checked that the pilot has not gone out these 820s still have a pilot and the fan runs at low speed to keep the combustion chamber air coming in, its worth checking before you try anything else
If thats ok turn it off at the wall for 5 mins and then back on again sometimes the board goes into some sort of digital lockout
best of luck mick
