There must be around 30 - 40 boiler manufacturers (possibly more) selling gas boilers in UK yet most people only have an opinion on perhaps about 5 or 6 as being the "best"!
Somebody is buying/fitting the others! (It is like buying a car in some ways. You can get a car for under 10K. It won't be the best built car, the most comfortable or the most up to date best engine but will get you from A to B and may provide many years of cheap trouble free service).

They are all fit for purpose, (yes even arguably Ideals), a great many even share a few std parts or copies of.
The reliability of the boilers differ but the system they are connected to and the workmanship can effect things Usually the cheaper boilers due to the customers desire to pay the lowest price, are more than often, fitted badly resulting in more problems. Parts can also cost more to repair cheap boilers.
The manufacturers warranties and response and cover to breakdowns can effect many decisions on what to use.
Should you fit a well respected manufactures band A boiler costing around £1000 that has the latest most up to date features but when it breaks down it takes 3 days to get fixed under warranty. Or the £500 band B boiler where the manufacturer has excellent cover and will be out same or next day?

Is it really worth paying the extra £3 or 4 hundred for a "good" band A over a band B?
Will you ever recover the extra money spent over the perhaps short life of the boiler?
Is your boiler "better" than your neighbours?

The one thing all modern boilers have in common, no matter who makes them or how well built or nice looking they are is

THEY WILL ALL BREAK DOWN AT SOME POINT

You don't necessarily always get what you think your money will buy you (i.e. best most reliable value for money boiler) ;)

What are your views/comments on this guys?

Need to fit one in a bedroom cupboard in a small one bed house for rental. Does anyone know if they are a noisy boiler or not?

i will be fitting one next week for the first time so if you can wait until then i will tell you .
That would be very helpful, could you email me directly with your opinions on [email protected] please as I am out the country next week and will need to check my emails and forward instructions to my plumber? Thank you very much.

i would`t worry about that Vokera Sabre, i`ve fitted about 20 of these things in the last 12 months (29 H.E. ) & provided its been done correctly & flushed out & inhibitor installed, there wont be a prob. i've had no comebacks on any of mine so far anyway

Can you tell me if they run qietly as have to fit one in a bedroom cupboard?

I have helped to fit many of these boilers over the years and as of yet only 1 has broken down and that was still under warranty. All our clients who have had these fitted are all happy with the choice. Easy to fit and easy to commission. Parts are also easy to get.
