Do hope somebody can help me...
I have used some timber lats above a shower cubicle and wanted to paint them white.
Somebody told me they were 'tannelised' or some word like that.
Oh forgot to say that before I decided I wanted them white I stained them antique pine with Colron wood dye.
I used an ordinary white emulsion on them and red blotches bled through. I painted one side with thick white gloss but it has turned yellowy.
What must I do? Will another gloss coat still turn yellowy? It looks awful
I heard of Polycell some stain block paint - would that work?
Help please urgently!! Many thanks

The Tanalising is a wood preservative for exterior wood. This will possibly bleed through any subsequent coats you put over it. Use Stain block or a sealer like Zinsser BIN, this should seal it enough to be able to paint over.

Thanks a lot Robbie.
Can you tell me where in the UK I can buy Zinsser Bin?
I've been Googling it but can't locate where I can get it.
I'm in Bournemouth so am near B&Qs, Homebase, Screwfix etc.
Do you think that's better than Stain Block by polycell?
The problem is that I've already covered the stain slightly - on one side with white emulsion and on the other side white emulsion plus white gloss.
Thanks for being there!

Pop along to your nearest crown decorator center, they sell trade paints and zinsser, you have one at Unit 5 Reid Street
CHRISTCHURCH, Dorset, BH23 2BT
or one at 31 Wessex Trade Centre POOLE, Dorset, BH12 3PF

Thanks so much one and all.
I got some Zinsser in B&Q in the end, have applied it in two coats, the gloss is now on and so far no bleeding through.
So that's what I call a bleeding success - don't you?
Thanks a lot
