Replacing hall doors

Hi all,
We have full glass danger doors in the hall, two standard with the middle. cut out and replaced with glass.
A third I made as a folding door using two redundant ones from the kitchen- with two narrower same glass panels, hung at the top only.

The front hall door is also a full glass etched panel with matching side panels. But we do have a porch enclosing all.

These must all be replaced of course.

My question is what ideas or prompts do you have.

I thought of toughened glass with small panels, but painting is difficult,
hardwood means the jambs and skirting also to replace.
and then the folded door is odd as it's painted now.
Then the front door, if double glazed is odd (and white)

In short- a problem ennit.

just an idea,could you not just ply over the top of the doors and install some nice looking moldings until time/money suits???

That's an idea, I admitt to having toyed with the possibility.

I would have to 'drop in' a panel of something strongish and not too heavy.
I suppose they don't make any good looking material for this type job ?

I could go for new doors like 'composition' or something- white plastic type painted- which seem very cheap- a-la-Wickes.

But then there's the folded door, maybe some plexiglass in that one?

Then at least a new d/g front hall door would sort of 'go' with the others.-
You've set me thinking a bit.

No- thats a very good idea- to get the door glass covered in safety film .

That will do fine
