What do you think?

I was looking at some din rail connectors and they were open on one side. by that I mean you could see the cable going in and the clamping mechanism. When you tightened the screw it pushed the clamp out a little. I could not understand that. I will see if I can get a picture of one in case you don't understand what I mean.
I know what you mean, and it's quite common. The idea is that the terminal next to it forms the side. You should be able to get little side panels that clip on if you don't have one next to it, but often the run ends with an earth terminal anyway.

Hmm have not got the hang of this quote thingy, I wanted to quote BAS
It's easy - just compare what you have in your reply with how it appears (use the Preview button) - you'll soon get the hang of it.

Each
needs a matching
, and you can nest them as much as you like.

But please take note of Rule 9 and don't keep repeating a conversation history from post to post.

Pride in one's work is very honourable, pitty 70% of what I see is cack
If only the majority understood that well dressed and tidy = initial confidence that the overall install will be done to a similar ethos. Not always true, but mostly is.

But wouldn't it have been better to take the MICCS straight into a metal clad board?

That'd keep little Rattykins away...

He probably didn't want to put in a metal clad board to mess up the look of the previous job

but I can't find the pictures
