Just spent ages looking for old style exterior light switches and can find nothing.

I've got an MEM 2-way lightswitch on the outside front of the house. It's weather proof, in what looks like a diecast box with nitrilish seal. No part number on it. Switch works fine but the box has several layers of paint dating back to 1974.

I'm looking for a new switch with the 60's / 70's look (not plastic) but all the period switches I can find are interior.

Anyone know of a supplier?
Thanks

Thanks 333rocky333 for the Lewden link.

Sadly I think Coughtrie are no more - looks like only the brand remains.

Why?

Not sure you've got that now, and with that manky bit of twin & earth running on the surface there's zero elegance to the whole thing anyway.

It's an outside light switch - fit an MK Masterseal and move on.... ;)

Lewden also do some metal ones.

That will look seriously naff if not supplied via galvanised steel conduit...

are you looking for something specifically like that or would any metal outside roatary light switch work?
we used some at the last place i worked that were circular and cast aluminium

There used to be metal square ones, about 50 X 50mm they were dark green I recall and popular in the 80's.
Not sure of make, maybe someone can recall.
may be worth checking out flats above shops with metal stairways, may give you an idea what is available.
Councils tend to use metal stuff.
