Did a job yesterday for a customer which involved puting in some new rads. Customer bought the rads/fittings etc and 3 brand new rads ( though initially it was only 2 rads they wanted done). Drained the primatic heating system down, installed rads, refilled system and made sure all rads where heating up before i left. Charged em £80 which tbh took me longer than than i had hoped ( missed the City V Blackpool game also ). I think personally this was pretty cheap but i seemed to sense they thought it was a little expensive, what you guys think?

How long did it take (inc. travelling), and what materials of yours did you use?

Are you self employed as a plumber, or is this a sideline/foreigner?

If it took much longer than 2.5 hrs, it would sound a bit cheap.

Just used some of my own screws/plugs m8, took me 15mins to get to the house, but it did take me most of the day to do tbh. System was a bitch to drain and refill, and getting all the rads working again took longer than i had anticipated. (

I would have realistically (I am no plumber) have expected a bill for double or triple what you have charged.

80 quid for whole days work ,are you signing on as well? thats ridiculous price and you would be better off stacking shelves at ASDA,at least they will pay all you tax insurance and you will have some sort of pension when you retire!!!

Did you not agree a price before you started the job, it's worth doing as it ensures everyone knows where they stand and if it's not agreeable it doesn't get done.

Jeez £80 for a days work. Take Tax & N.I, travelling etc etc out . Not much left. And your customer thought you were expensive!!!!!

God, do you lot take the bait this easily?

This is a total noise up, who (SE plumber) in thier right mind works all day on a Saturday for £80 less tax and NI then asks on an internet site wether he has been too expensive?

A primatic clinder/heating system has got to be the quickest system to fill next to sealed system.

This joker gives us CCCs a bad name!

Can I propose that we have our own section on this forum? The Gassafes have their CC, can we have the CCCC?
