I recently bought a Scantronic 9448+ to replace an older 9448 panel that was faulty. I have wired it up as the instructions state. It worked fine at first but when I walked into Zone 1 the panel "tamper" light came on. I rechecked all the wiring and reset the panel by bridging the RST pins. But now the alarm powers up as normal and I enter the user code to clear the alarm bell. However it will not let me enter program mode and all six red lights just remain lit. It does not appear to have blown any fuses. I was just wondering about the tamper circuits from each PIR and the door closers, do all these wire as follows all the blues to Tamp "T" connection and all the Yellows to the Tamp "A" connection. Or should I try linking all these out? Which I guess is just joining the blue and yellow wires together from each PIR to see if the system will work? The backup battery is fine in the panel, producing 12V DC. Thanks for any help.

I found this yesterday on a different Forum, excellent piece of information.

A healthy battery voltage is no indication that there is any capacity available, in the same way that fumes smelt in your fuel tank is no indication that petrol exists!

Sorry I can enter program mode, I did not have the door closed far enough and the tamper spring made  The tamper light still remains on though, just wondered is my wiring incorrect for the tamper connections as that is the only real thing that I was a bit stuck on.
