Last year in Tenerife, I cut my foot on some broken glass. I went to the medical centre where there's a big sign up stating " English speaking Doctors here."

Not only is BP not British as such but the rig was being leased out to Transocean, an American company, who where operating it. Another US company was responsible for the deep sea stuff that involves coupling the well. They must have some sort of responsibility also.

Apparently the UK is being villified in the US, becase of this, even though BP is owned virtually 50/50 by the US, but it's not being reported over here properly. But the US forgets that OUR oil disasters were caused by THEM..

So, I hope that the way the Americans are treating BP will come back on them and bite there bums.
The Americans always fail in there duty of care when ever they create or have a major problems.

The Yanks don't like to admit that anything they have ever done is wrong. They won't let little things like facts stand in the way of pointing the finger of blame ar another country.

Historical point their. The Enigma machine was invented by the Germans. The first complete one was captured by British forces whilst sinking a German U Boat. The code was eventually broken by the team at Bletchley Park, including Alan Turing using the very first electronic programmable computer.
