urgent advice needed

hi took a shower cubical out today in a newish chartdale house 20y old all around the bottom of the tray has been leaking, as normal, all the plaster has become water damaged and behind the plaster is just straw how do i fix this cheaply and quickly so i can retile over it, problem is if i board over it with the new tiles it will make the gap to small for the 760 door min ajustment is about 735

it would apear to be like stud partitions made of straw looks like a paper face on it and then been plastered

i did think mesh maybe then skim it with bonding or something

any advice cheers ben

id go with the mesh m8te and bonding if plaster board is out of the question 9.5mm board iv rendererd a straw building once it was lime render over mesh looked good in the end

it seamed all loose and crappy, eml meshed it and rendered it with a mix of plaster board adhesive and sbr, perfect good as new and only about 3mm thick still cant get whats left stuck to my flex plastic bucket out, tiled it next day as well,, job done !!!

I wouldn't of used bonding or plaster board at low level where a shower has been leaking! Maybe mesh and a few coats of s/c or backer board but never bonding..

Or plasterboard adhesive, it will go off solid but it wont hold the water back....

I'm guessing that the SBR would make it waterproof?

doesn't work like that Joe.... He could of used Waterproof tile adhesive Like Ardex or something similar.....

How does it work then? SBR makes mortar waterproof - so in what way is it different?
