hi everyone, im a little bit stumped and was wondering if anyone could help. the headgasket went on the punto surprise surprise. i replaced the headgasket and the cambelt at the same time. ive done many of these cars and also others. but on this occasion it starts fine and ticks over excellent but as soon as you put your foot on the throttle it seems to be running on 3 cylinders. ive checked the timing over and over but its spot on. any replys would be appreciated and any advice would be great many thanks callum

might be worth doing a quick compression test to rule out any bad stuff. After that i'd be looking at maybe a plug or lead breaking down, not sure if yours has seperate coils or if it's distributor driven.

i think i should do the compression test as i believe ive actually got a compression testing kit. its got the 2 coils? i did wonder on the plugs leads and coils breaking down to be honest. i think i may just change them to rule them out thanks callum

...always a wet blanket but I reckon its essential to skim the head on these - as most gaskets blow due to overheating. Hope I'm wrong though!
John :)
