If you fill the system to the correct pressure and then turn on the heating, does the pressure rise quickly and then drop as the safety valve lets off water? That can occur if the expansion vessel has no air in it.

hi ,
recently had 4.5 bar in the digital display (hence boiler shut down) , fault f9= water pressure fault , replaced sensor and still showing 4.5 bar andf9 fault , need help no shower for 3 days.Gloworm say might be pcb but i no idea .
Thanks steve

Is the pressure only rising when the heating is on or is it rising regardless. Can't imagine your using the heating now.
Is there water coming out of the pressure relief pipe at any time?
F9 can be a number of things, but best to start with basics.
I would:
check EV is correct pressure, clean seating of PRV, check filling loop isnt passing.

. The pressure went up 4.5bar over night (gone up and down from 1.2bar to 3.0 bar )with no heating onfor a couple of weeks then it has gone to norm 1.2 bar.tuesday went to 4.5 bar , replaced pressure sensor and still showing 4.5 bar exv seems ok 0.5 ,wiggled braided pipe incase blocked , al to no avail . Prv seems ok no indicatoin of water
thanks steve

Try isolating the cold supply into the boiler for a period of time like over night and see if that stops it.

hi again ,
rechecked EXV 0.5 bar heatin system completly drained , boiler drained still showing 4.5 bar in digital window , replaced the water pressure sensor , every thing seems ok with the PRV. Pressure rising regardless (well it was ) . Driving me  now.
thanks steve

was isolated all last night .Sry filling loop ok .Also just removed the wiring connection 4.pm 22/7/10 on the water pressure sensor and on the pcb and it still reads 4.5 bar . might it be elecrical ,
Thanks steve

sounds a bit odd. never had that before. needs some proper diagnosis, I'd get someone in to sort it else you could be wasting money throwing parts at it.
