Electric Water Heater Home Cover / Care?

Hi all,

I have a Range Tribune 150L and I want some kind of cover / insurance on it. I have similar on my house through British Gas .. But they won't cover this unit?

Any help appreciated!

I don't know of anyone that will offer insurance on these units, however make sure a G3 (un-vented HW Storage) Registered Engineer carries out an Annual inspection AND FILLS IN THE SERVICE SECTION OF THE BLUE BENCH MARK BOOK and you should be covered by the Manufacturer's warranty on the tank, which is usually up to 20 Years depending on the maker, however the T&P and PRV's etc would not be covered, but none of these are horrendoulsy expensive

why won't BG cover it? you can have plumbing only cover which does cover the cylinder.

Boilerman2 - Good idea if i knew wher the book was, plus the last tenant wouldnt have paid an engineer out each year i doubt .. i'll try and find out!

Ive just spoke to BG and they said the plumbing care would only cover pipes leading to the cylinder itself however would not cover the cylinder itself.

Have you had any joy in getting 'care/cover' for the cylinder also? I also created a topic... after seeing this...

Hiya,

Looks like BG have failed me .. they just got out dynorod to do a estimate on a faulty heating element ..

you have any luck SuperTrooper?
