Moving Radiator and Pipes

Hi, About a year ago we got replaced our central heating sytem and radiators to a combi.

The Plumber who done it left a bit of a mess with one Radiator. The pipes were all exposed and i had no chance of boxing them in neatly.. I just want the pipes to run along the floor and then rise straight up into the fitting. at the minute its like theyr bend into a right angle right at the fitting, and one side leaks slightly as a result. Pleae see my photos for a better idea.

what would be the best/cheapest way for me to do this myself i have some tools i could use and also borrow. will push fittings work?

I can't be sure what size those pipes are, measure them carefully. They'll be 8mm or 10mm by the look of it.
You can get pushfit 10mm but not 8mm.
Compression would be very easy and a lot neater - or soldered would be neater still.

Minor snag is you'll have to find a friendly plumber or merchant who will let you have a short length of whatever pipe it is. It usually comes on coils. Many merchants will sell you 1 mrtre.

They are 8mm, I wondered why i couldnt find any 8mm pushfits online. I could get the pipe from a mate i would say, or off a plumber at work, but as for solder and compression im lost. I asked them for a price and they say £50 at the least and will have to wait two week! im not interested in that.

I think what i will do is just box as far as i can and build a radiator cabinet to cover the rest.

i usually get hardened 8mm in a 3m length. same with 10mm.when on show.i gets it from my local plumbase.looks better as its straighter also.and less than a fiver for a 3m lenght.

at the moment i have a cover and pipebox to cover it. By the pics do you think the bending into the fittings is ok? personally i want to get them straight along the floor then a corner joint then pipe straight into the fitting, or am i just been fussy? I can get it done for £30 now is this a good price providing i get the materials?

I got 6 radiators and a combi boiler fitted for £200 so i cant really complain on appearance but is it safe? i mean one side was leaking once and i managed to stop it myself by just tightening it, but it was hard as there was no pipe to play with one more turn and the pipe would of broke completely (i assume anyway lol)
