Lead + lasts for years. - gets nicked and costs a lot

Rubber EPDM

Can withstand extreme weather, is flexible, 100% maintenance free, wont rot, comes with a 50 year life expectancy etc etc

Had it fitted to a rental house i own a while ago and still looks brand spanking new

There are a lot of people who are a result of failed rubber

Copper, the best roofing material by far!! Never had a job stolen but it is expensive.
Next is probably stainless steel, not as "pretty" as copper but very durable (a gaurantee of 200+ years).
Next is zinc, visually stunning, available in a range of colours and cheaper than a rubber roof.
Next probably sarnafil. Probably the best product in it's field on the market but very expensive. 50 year gaurantee max.

so cost wise and life wise epdm is the best?

Ive spoken to a few builder/roofing mates and they are putting the EPDM on all the new builds/extensions/dormas.

how thick does stainless steel have to be?

I suppose it is quite hard and difficult to work

We use 0.4mm and 0.5mm stainless steel. It's not hard to work with or difficult to fold...............if you know how ;)

Once weathered it takes on a lead "look" and colour. It is by far the most durable roofing material on the market today, a common gaurantee would be 200+ years.

On a 10+ sq mt roof cost would be a problem?

Whats the best material for extensions, Dormas, Porches?

EPDM all the way for cost?

10 sq metres would cost around £500 for zinc supply and install and around £750 for stainless steel.

I would recommend zinc for a decorative finish e.g. dormers, porches, guttering etc. But stainless steel is ideal for flat roof extensions, fit and forget for 200 years..............

You'd be a fool to chose EPDM.

Fully supported standing seam seam is fitted to a minimum 18mm ply deck.
