Hi, I have a Monoflame Minor 8 Kerosene burner at home.
There is no fuel spraying out of the nozzle (and inturn it will not light)although fuel is going into the boiler.

The nozzle is new and clear.
There is a spark.
There is oil to the whole thing.
The red lockout light comes on after it tries to light.

Is it anything to do with bearings or solanoid?

Prior to this, it was starved of fuel as I had changed the tanks!

If the motor is actually spinning and turning the oil pump, the solenoid on top of the pump is the thing to check....assuming that all tank valves are open, and the oil is bled through, of course!
John :)

Thank you John for your reply.

I managed to get it going. I became frustrated and tapped the left hand side where the fuel goes in with a spanner and it fired up! I wonder if something had stuck/jammed!?

At a distance, this could indicate the oil flow valve is sticking in the shut position, and the clout has jolted it free.....it wasn't the motor starting up, was it?
I'll check to see which burner this one is ( a bit early for memory!!) - lets see if the fault comes back. New oil valves are available for repair, as are the solenoid coils.
Pump replacement does require setting up with a pressure guage and flue gas analyser though.
John :)
