i have old oak floorboards in my living room. at the moment they look like they are completely untreated (there is no varnish-like sheen to them).
i am going to get them professionally cleaned and then want to add a preservative coating to them,
my choices seem to be Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish (natural) or Ronseal Diamon Hard Floor Wax (natural). I want to go with a natural finish as I don't want to change the colour of them. I also don't want to add any sheen if I can avoid it.... basically, i want them to look like they do now, but have a hope of standing up to a the abuse of a drunk girlfriend in stilletos with a glass of red wine!
My gut reaction is to go for 3 coats of wax with a light sand prior to the last coat.
Thoughts?
cheers
