Hello Gents,

This fella is currently powering an old cottage I am gonna buy. (Previously occupied by an elderly Gent). It services 6 rads and one small shower. There are no paperwork or records.

Whadyareckon - a Horror waiting to explode or a cute little antique on its last zimmer?

Cheers Boys

 that image will haunt my dreams...

it looks a bit... unhealthy. not liking the marks on the front of it

Thank you chaps for your views.

The monster is fitted in a pre-famine (1840s) cottage in the West of Ireland.

The cottage has been unoccupied for a year and the boiler has been on at 22 degrees for all that time and has used a full tank of heating oil.

I am due over there soon to start a re-furb so it looks like this will be the first job to organise.

Anybody up for a free busmans holiday can mail me!! :) :)

Cheers

Looks good for an irish Installation IMHO.

I've seen far worse in the emerald isle!!

Yep, I have seen far worse during my travels over there. I made an offer on a cottage in Kerry. The offer was pitched low due to the totally kernackered heating system which included an oil fired wall boiler that was 10 years old and refitted into the cottage.... by the owner..... a farmer!!. The owner was aghast and refused a reduction.

I walked away.

The money I save in water rates and council tax will pay for a new install on this one!!
