After seeing the brilliant rescue of the miners got me thinking how this country would have handled it. First the committee to meet to consider the problem, then 3 alternative proposals submitted in triplicate, then heaven knows how many quangoes sticking ther oar in, and finally, after about 12 months elf & safety with the risk assessment which would prevent any rescue.

MaltAron, you neglected the Method Statement, mission statement, meaningless message on the liveried vehicles along the lines of 'putting you the customer, first'. Ensuring 'Best Value', verifying that diversity is valued, KPI monitoring, all overseen by a Working Party, led by a Steering Group.
