GD on change to forums

I guess several people have ideas on having changes to the forums and because its about a singular category it soon gets whisked off to another forum and cannot be discussed in an open debate. So I'll not put anything in the subject post I want changed and leave it in your replies to decide the subject.

Now you know what I would like and I will in turn support your request provide its got some logic in the argument.

As an adjunct to this request I see Admin are considering my request and I think would like to know how others feel about it.

I personally think its a 'no brainer' to put singular category subjects together and likewise having extremely diverse subjects together can be confusing.

Your right of course Wreckedit. We need a sub category just for the comedians amongst us.
Perhaps a special Engineering forum as well. Where we can discuss the merits of the Harrier and F35 and Rolls Royce Trent 900 engine safety too.
Why not have a Disaster forum where 9/11 and Tsunami's Hurricanes and Tornado's etc could be discussed. Then we need a Global Warming forum and a Conspiracy Theory forum too. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I'm with what I assume is the consensus here.... leave it as it is. I hate having forums effed about with. It works don't try and fix it.
 
It was interesting what the Admin said, 'the consensus of opinion was'. Because if you look at the replies on here the consensus of opinion is we would like changes.
Everything in time needs a bit of maintenance, nothing stays right for ever, so why not tweak things a bit.
My suggestion about the joke forum is an illustration of bits flying around the machinery and getting lost. Real gems some of them to tell your mates, that are flying around all the other posts looking for a home. If you take a look at other DIY sites you'll see what I mean.
 
Its good to see the 'agrees' are building up on my early post about a jokes forum

The 'viewers' are building up on this post but its only the regulars that are replying.

So why don't you 'just viewers' say something? because on this post your replies will count.
 
Mine aren't coz two of the mods keeps deleting them. I might have to come back as someone else when they ban me ;)
 
What about the ability to crosspost to both?

The jokes could go into the Joke directory for posterity, but I prefer coming up on a joke once and a while on GD between the more serious posts.

hey wreck.. i'm not sure i get what you;re on about..... i asked about splitting plumbing.....are you asking about jokes?

i already got people to put the work (JOKE) in brackets after their post.. if it;s a joke... and Hoggy is famous for it as it wreckedit.....

what do you want more than that?
