Boiler in cold area

Hi.

I wrote on here some time ago about a problem I had with my boiler making a high pitched noise, but I have managed to get it under control now.

I used a Cleanser/Silencer and slowly but surely it is getting less noisy and some times it makes the noise initially and then stops.

I'm going to wait until my property is completed before getting someone to check it over.

Another question I wanted to ask was regarding the efficiency.

The boiler has been fitted to the front of the house and at this moment the area is only about 1/2 degrees above the outside temperature.

Is this going to cause problems for the boiler or does it not matter what the temperature is around the boiler.

The boiler will generate its own heat when running, however it dosent want to be somewhere freezing cold , the boiler pipe work is full of water so can freeze, it might have a built in anti frost stat which will let it cycle when the temp drops below 5Deg, also all the pipe work running to and from it wants to be protected if in a cold area

It does have a frost protection stat, but I was concerned that it may get damaged due to the very cold weather.

I have vaulted ceilings throughout the property, so I have had to insulate most of the pipework above the insulation in the ceiling.

I know the timer on boilers have the facility to be timed to turn on and off, but can they be set to come on at different temperatures.

I need the boiler on full between around 5 and 10 at night, but then through the night and day I could just have it on half way.

I haven't got a thermostat fitted and I'm unsure if turning the dial on the boiler will cause problems.
