Hi All,

My back boiler is starting playing up. It takes about 20 mins for it to ignite "start up" and makes like a small explusion seems like a lot of gas comes in one go?

I decided to leave it on continiously and lowering down the room thermostat over night. Is it a good idea?

the last service back over a year ago mentioned the gas valve was on is way. Is it safe to have it running?

Only advice possible is to get it checked ASAP. Gas valve "on the way out" could mean anything.Probably sticking and delaying burner starting.Deffo not a DIY fix.I can only advise that it is not working correctly and that it is probably could become dangerous and needs urgent attention.

Depending on where you are why not try BG on a fixed price repair. The UK is a big place.

BG wont be quick to respond to a non contract customer at the moment.
