The saga continues :-
This problem has fooled me since it seemed intermittent.
We complained about the terrible stink although the rotors and water circulation while washing was quite powerful.
Just found service invoices going back to 2002.!!!! the single motor was replaced by Zanussi service under guarantee. I did suggest that I doubted that it was a motor problem.
Local experts insisted that the a timer microswitch was the fault so it was replaced
There are two of us in the house most of the time so the DW not loaded with many dishes, so the replacement seemed to have fixed it. Then a period of non-use and it might stand unused for say a week, then the smell. I found quite a lot of foul water left under the tray. But if only a few dishes had been washed regularly the smell was not apparent. So it was not fixed !
After all this time I did a “coffee test” mixing a very strong instant type, selecting the usual B program, listening for the water fill to start, then pouring in the coffee as a marker. Went to bed.
Next morning I found quite a dark liquid in the base of the DW. Yet the program has two rinses.
Opening and closing the door while pumping out I was surprised to see large rotor activity with copious water being circulated in the DW. I could hear some drain output.
My conclusion is that the pump out head pressure is being bypassed, and being a timed function, it literally runs out of time. The end product left in the DW is a left over of the last rinses. The two rinses being partly diluted with fresh mains input.
There is always going to be a residue old foul water.
What is the answer ? I have posted on “justanswer”.. No answer !
The Zanussi build is very good BUT it dose not work.
This SOB has a design fault IMHO.
If I don’t solve this within a week it’s off to the TIP
Unless I get some good tips here
