Hello all
I completed on my 1900's house today
I am going to be getting the Walls plastered.
When i went in today it was cold as the rads are not big enough for he room.

Is there some sort of plaster that is insulating for solid Walls on the inside?

Thanks

I was thinking of where I can replacing the render (old plaster) with insulated board I think i have seen some that's 35mm that can fit direct to the wall.
Does this sound right to you experts.

You can use thermaline
http://www.british-gypsum.com/produ...es/gyproc_thermal/gyproc_thermaline_plus.aspx
They can be dot'n'dabbed to the wall but will need a secondary mechanical fixing, such as nailable plugs.
You could also consider building a stud wall up and insulating then boarding out.
They do do an external render that claims to have thermal properties, i have no experience of it, so can not comment on how efficient it is.

A product that may be worth reading up on is rubbercrete, I remember seeing something about it somewhere, although I could be barking up the wrong tree.

Get your wiring checked and sorted before you think about plastering (periodic inspection report, or PIR) and also if you wish to conceal any pipe work, now is the time to start thinking about that.

quote]lol do you realise how cold its been lateley ? its well in the minuses well it was when you posted this post, my advice would be to get a bigger rad

It will remain cold for some time but what will you do in hot season? I think Douglas is right use bigger rad. If you are not satisfied with it then go for your choice.

There are a number of things you can do in regard to warming the property or helping it keep warm but for now try leaving the heating on for longer, these old houses need to warm up, alternativly a power flush may help you.
