Fitting a thermostat to the boiler, using external controls. I have the 230v signal from the thermostat to pin 2 on the mains voltage heating control plug on the controls interface pcb but the boiler does not ignite. The wire link has been removed from the voltage free heating controls on the fold down panel.

With the 230V reaching the boiler, it is still not igniting, any ideas on a possible problem? What setting should I have the boiler on? Seem to have tried the 5 of them, holiday, central heating, domestic hot water, central heating and domestic hot water, and central heating on the built in timer with domestic water (with timer on and off).

Ideas please folk :(

HI

i hope you are registered/qualified for this.fit the room stat wires in the same terminals where the link was fitted.

Im a qualified electronics engineer, working with a qualified electrician, so not boiler engineers but for fitting a thermostat should be fine!

Where the link is fitted states for 24v only, and checking the schematics it says this should not be used for mains thermostats.

thx

HI

thats fine i have check the manual connect where the link was .if you struggle with room stat just buy standard honeywell(T6360B) room stat and use 3 and 1 pins.
