Does anyone have the fault codes for my Candy Washing Machine?

I've just replaced the PCB and NTC probe, its going through a programme but didn't seem to be heating! However at the end of the programme it was flashing on the 90min mark and the stain button at intervals of 14.

Hi again Maggie ;)
Bummer the machine isn't up & running yet but I am sure it is something simple. At least your pcb is throwing up an error code which is what it should have done the first time around. A repeating series of 14 flashes indicates a heating fault. We know your heater worked earlier, in fact it worked too well & wouldn't stop heating. I would go over the connections again to make sure they are all in place & tight and there are no loose/broken wires in the heating circuit. If hubby has a multimeter get him to check the integrity of the heating element (it should measure 25 to 30 ohms). The NTC should measure almost 20k ohms at 25C, but when warmed to 85C the resistance should drop to around 2k ohms. I am pretty sure this is something easy, maybe even something that has simply been overseen or forgotten (a plug or cable connection).

Hi Zipper, thanks for your reply.

Yes its very frustrating! OK we'll give all that you have suggested a try, my other half tells me that there is power to the heating circuit. So we'll unplug and replug everything again.

I'll let you now progress :)

Has he measured 230v across the element in the heating phase?? If yes then it may be open circuit. The element should measure 25 to 30 ohms.

Hi Zipper,

We've unplugged the PCB and reconnected it. Checked the wiring from the PCB, but still no joy with the heater, cold water only. However, we've noticed that when the machine is off, there is a dim light showing on the mains tester across the heater element terminals?

Unfortunately we haven't got a multimeter, so we cannot check the resistance.
I'm wondering if the new PCB is throwing up a fault also.

When you bought the pcb did you specify a pre-programmed type? (as I mentioned in the first thread). A mains tester isn't the right tool to use for this kind of thing. You need a multimeter to read resistance & voltage, mains testers can be downright dangerous. Is your house wiring in order, correct voltage at the socket, no earth leakage? If Spain is the same as some other European countries you will not have 230v phase & neutral...but 230v 2 phases (2 lives in other words). You need to check the heater element isn't open circuit.

Hi there, yes the PCB was pre programmed and the household wiring is ok.

We'll take your comments on board and see if we can get hold of a multimeter to test the machine.

I'll keep you posted
