Home is all electric and I use tumble dryer to dry washing. Electric bill huge this quarter and I wonder if this is down to the fridge as the compressor seems to run a lot and last night I noticed a chill at the top of the integrated door, which makes me think that it can't hold it's temperature. Fridge must be at least 15 years old.

Oven takes 10 mins to get to 170c. Just over 5 years old. Thermostat replaced twice under warranty and recent blue flash and main light won't work - have checked bulb. Asked local repair workshop and was advised repair probably in excess of £140.

Thinking of replacing with an AEGD41116M before it goes completely.

Can anyone offer any help/advice.

Thanks.

Tumble drier uses loads of electricity compared to fridge. Fridge shouldswitch off regularly and go into auto defrost mode melting ice before resuming chilling cycle.. You should be able to feel warm air blowing out of front right vent underneath door. There is a small flap on lower side of left side of fridge as you look at it. Remove cover and vaccuum out dust and clean coils with bristle brush and also fan area that blows into this area from front left vent - clean via this door and cavity. You might have to remove appliance from its space in the line of cupboards. Search forum using appliance number. I managed to save my Hotpoint and it works great now.

My oven takes 10-15 minutes easily to reach this temperature.
