I have recently had some electrical ring circuits extended and new sockets installed resulting in significant areas of existing plaster needing patch repairs.

Can anyone suggest the best plaster to use for the job. I have been told that thistle is a good brand so was thinking of thistle hardwall + multi finish. Alternatively, are they any good one coat options on the market?

The background material is block in some places, brick in others.

Thanks

i would use thistle bonding but use pva to control the suction first, then use multi as a top coat

or if yourdoinit your self and dnt fancie doin plastering your self or are not that confident you might be beter with thistle bonding and pva as steve said and then easy fill over the top to sand it flush you might get a better result your self with this option, if you do go down this road you wanna use the bagges filler that you have to knock up your self if you get the ready mix stuff youll find it shrinks alot more and youll have to refill it 4 mabey even 5 times to get it flush, where as if you buy it bagged youll only have to fill over twice

Bonding & Multi as stated; it pays to chip out the original skim either side just enough to get some reinforcing tape over the Bonding & original base coat (which the Bonding should be flush with) & then skim/blend over the lot. You might like to consider using Easyfill as a finish if you’ve no experience with plaster.

Christ it's beginning to look like a bloody fairground in here

Thanks for the replies. Bonding and multi it is. I also like the idea of the scrim tape.
