Hi,

I'm looking to install central heating in my house and wondered if there is a particular make of radiator I should buy. Is it just a matter of finding the cheapest rad for the BTU/room or should I go for a particular make?

Thanks in advance for you reply

I've just seen an old thread about the same thing but no one gave a definitive answer.

would stelrad be the best make to go for?

We use Vogel & Noot Vienna Line, because they have a nice finish and child friendly radiused corners.

Everyone has their favourites.

I've had a look around and screwfix radiators are cheap and also give out more BTU than some of the others.

They are also around £200 cheaper than the equivalent stelrad radiators.

Screwfix rads are very basic units.

When looking at rads remember that DIY focused websites like Screwfix show actual selling prices; radiators the trade use are usually discounted off book price by 70-80%. You won't find these so easily on the internet.

If it's Screwfix you want, go for it.

there's barely any difference in terms of performance and reliability. Your paying for the finish and look of the rad. I mostly use Plumb Centre centrerads, never had a problem or complaint, but if someones a bit fussy I'll fit stelrad , but personally dont think the price difference is justified.
