Just wondering how long it takes to prepare a quote for some decorating jobs I need doing. Im thinking they might not want to do it :(
its been 3 days.

I know its probably 'how long's a piece of string' but as a rough guide how many days does it generally take.

Thanks.

I try to get them done by a Friday and tell the potential customer that. Sometimes, if I'm very busy, I get them out on a Sunday.

As you said, 'How long is a piece of string?'

I would expect anyone who wants the work to get back to you within 10 days though. A start date is another matter!

Often I suspect that once the tradesmen has had a look he may decide the job is too small for him and so not bother quoting.

I had this issue when I had a plasterer to quote for our bathroom ceiling. Despite phoning him a week later I never did get that quote. I then called about 5 plasterers to quote and got quotes from 2 of them.

Is it a small or awkward job?
