Favorite Movie

Airplane (comedy)

Picnic At Hanging Rock (spooky) - if you havn't seen it, do. Based on a true story. Really weird. Think someone much later made a follow up, using conjecture to explain what might have happened.

Rocky Horror (deffo) - went to Rocky Horror Show in 1980's dressed in basque fishnets and docks - tried to get stilletos, but unfortunately they don't do gents size 12G....had a hard enough time to find a basque big enough.... good fun, esp the choccy..... ;)

Gosford Park - only cos I like that sort of 1930's Poirot kinda stuff.

Mr Taunton - Ferris Bueller? A 1980's nonfilm? (87 I think). The only funny bit for me was the ferrari taking a dive...

I watched Police Academy again the other night - Do you remember how, when it came out, it was seen as being the funniest film ever. It was only the 6 sequels that spoilt it. To quote Homer, when Bart is caught stealing.....

"I always brought you up to respect law and order. Why do you think I took you to see all those Police Academy films ? For a laugh ? Well I didn't see anyone else laughing, did you ?"

And I stand by Ferris Bueller......And if I can't have that, I'll take National Lampoon's Vacation.

Fantastic movie especially the bit where he wrecks his fathers car, and the bit where everyone was dancing to twist and shout.

It a funny thing that some movies don't stand the test of time and when you see them again a few years later they seem really dated.

But others you can watch again and again. 'Some like it Hot' and 'The Blues Brothers' to name but two

Saw the Wedding Crashers the other night . Its really funny. Highly recommended.

laurel and hardy great stuff

"how do you spell needle?"

neidle

Priceless!!!

1 Its A Wonderful Life ..Director:Frank Capra ,.....A HEARTFELT BEAUTIFUL FILM .... a real tear jerker or else your a zombie

2 Gladiator ...Director:Ridley Scott,.....An Epic MasterPiece better than Spartacus rambling mess , in my opinion

3 Platoon ,.....Director:Oliver Stone ,..... THE BEST of VIETNAM WAR films
it reflects a a true combat mans "In Country Experiances" , Apocalypse Now an full metal jacket were pure fiction joke films ...

(most nam vets say that Platoon tells a real story ..)

an Willem Dafoes =Sgt. Elias Grodin's horrendous death throes show the Evil MEN Can DO.. ! a real tear jerker or else your a zombie

4 (JOINT )Get Carter ...Director:Mike Hodges ....Caines Finiest ........a true embittered warrior.........
The Long Good Friday ...Director:John Mackenzie
this was the best as above for the Brit Gangster fillum ...
in the time the IRA were a major REAL threat an that was a massive shock in the film..

Hoskins NEVER EVER acted better an is washed up now .. shameful

for Caine above he went onto many wonders ZULU , ALFIE ,The Man Who Would Be King , an many good sublime films like "Educating Rita"... an the cash/crap films like JAWS REVENGE an BEWITCHED a real Dog sh*t Stinker ..lol

5 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Director:Michel Gondry

this was on par with another wonderful "Different LOVE STORY "
Twelve monkeys Director:Terry Gilliam

each is a showcase to TRUE LOVE ... in all its quirky screenplay way ....
these are two more films which will have you crying uncontrollable unless you have a heart of stone

6 Goodfellas .... Director:Martin Scorsese
AN Outstanding masterpiece (better than the Godfather films as its more passionate in in its telling of the Mob rule !)
Im sure you can recite an Harry Hill Lines to any guy in Britain an they will know what you are on about an reply , in a Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) role role " YOU LAUGHING AT ME ?... Im I FUNNY ?????"

other than the cliches it IS a true telling not OLD COUNTRY MAFIOSI BULL SH*T Romanticism...its real life is Goodfellas as they get WHACKED after the big one ....

just some of my wonders ... ;)

Great film, laugh out loud every time.

This film will always come in my top five films, so atmospheric and so real. Another favourite Australian film is Walkabout, which grabs me from the very beginning (not to mention a young Jenny Agutter!!)

Rocky Horror (deffo)

Brilliant film, genius work by Richard O'Brian. One of my favourite film quotes at the end by Charles Grey "And crawling on the planet's face, some insects... called the human race."

Another favourite is Bladerunner. I know this film got panned by the critics but I just love the atmosphere. Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer both excellent in this.

Oh, Eternal Sunshine... great film! And amazing to see Jim Carrey pull off a performance where he didn't pull a single funny face!

ninebob, Bridget Jone's Diary? Obviously more of a "metrosexual" film

Moz, whilst I agree with many of your film choices, one thing disappoints me...

Twelve monkeys Director:Terry Gilliam

Sure, he did do that, but I wouldn't say that is his most significant contribution to mankind... it's like saying

Lead singer of "Wings": Paul McCartney

A few of my faves are....

Midnight run

Airplane 1/2

Police squad

The champ

About a boy

Miracle on 34th street :cry:/

Its a wonderful life

Any Laurel and Hardy

The longest day

The Jerk

Shawshank redemption

Brubaker.

Remeber Deliverance?
Stumbled on typical part of the music in the film (with animation from a tv-serie, can't remember hearing it there)

Looked even better in American Werewolf in London

I was less than pleased to see her in "Spooks"... with respect to Jenny, she hasn't aged as well as some (for instance Felicity Kendall, still perky as ever!)

Theres so many.

Airplane is brilliant and the other one Top Secret is hilarious.

The Brown Bunny, weird but a great film with a superb soundtrack. The soundtrack album is amazing because its got some fantastic John Frusciante tracks on it.

The Terminal was good. The wife wanted to see it at the cinema but I thought it looked boring. We never went so she bought it on DVD and actually I really liked it.

And, Duck Soup, the funniest Marx Brothers film there is and one the funniest films ive ever seen.
