I want to start a mini project: I want to create clocks

What I want are round pieces of wood
I'd like these in different finishes
+ having a choice of different woods would be great

I'm not quite sure where to look or where to go to buy

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Any timber yard will have stuff in stock, or be able to source it.

Further down the line, if you want real 'raw wood' - ie, unseasoned, ring a few log merchants. They'll usually have access to timber.

aaah...

i think i must be near some woodland as well so will make enquiries

apologies for not believing u

i've given u a thank u as well

i've had great replies - thanks guys

just remember you need to let the wood season for several months to work out how bad the cracks twist and cupping is going to be

what is a perfectly flat circle now can turn into a very craggy edged propeller in a few months

I get some of my wood for wood turning from Ebay, search for turning blanks or something similar
