Hi all, I have had this boiler installed in October in a house that is being renovated. Due to other commitments, I had to turn off the boiler until now (there were 2 rads removed from the system also)

The rads are back on and when the boiler is switched on it shows the F:22 fault (not enough water in system) but when the water is turned back on it leakes out inside the boiler from behind the smaller hot water heat exchenger (on the right hand side between the 2 fixing screws) so obviously had to turn the water back off to the boiler. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Sounds like the boiler froze up - hence the inbuilt frost protection feature of the boiler. Next time drain the system or leave power to the boiler.

Don't worry though, Vaillant will correct your mistake under warranty So why the b1tching

because it wasnt fitted by a GSR engineer and valliant will invalidate warrent ? just a guess

as above, they will probably invalidate the warranty if it wasnt fitted by a GSR...can see why as its their way of ensuring that it was correctly (hopefully) installed to begin with.

although wrong, in the sense that a loophole in the law says "the" homeowner, can install a gas appliance such as a boiler without being registered, providing it is done by the homeowner, and no money is exchanged and the person is not installing in other peoples houses.

of course though doing this is not recomended as if it goes wrong, you have proven and demonstrated to be incompetent and pretty much up the creek without a paddle.
