Hi, I'm thinking of laying laminate flooring in my passage but would prefer it to be installed under the skirting boards to hide the expansion gap.

Unfortunately, the house is 1930's built and taking out the skirting boards to do this is not an option as big pieces of plaster come out with it.

Is there any other way that I can cut the bottom pieces of skirting boards out to achieve the same effect of having the flooring underneath the skirting boards? Or is there any other way that I can do this?

I'd also rather not use beading/scotia to hide the gap - any ideas?

it can be done but obviously will cost more =time

the skirting can be undercut then using a decent laminate like quickstep uniclic and the quickstep unifix tool should be possible.

you will need to find a decent floor guy/joiner to have a look you may need to ring around as some people dont like chalanges or hard work

Thanks for that, how would I cut the skirting? Is there a special tool which I'd need to do this with?

why are you doing it yourself?

you can buy a special undercutting saw or use a fein multimaster
