A Mira Excel built in valve shower made in 2004.
A WB Combi boiler supplies water, the mains supply pressure is quite high, it is a high lime scale area.

The right angle connector connects the valve outlet pipe to the flexible hose.
The back plate is screwed to the tiles over the pipe, and an olive and nut are then screwed to the back plate.
A right angle nylon connector is attached to the back plate, the flexible hose is then screwed to the nylon connector to supply water to the rose.

Mine leaks at the joint between the nylon backplate and the nut which screws into it, an olive is used to form a seal.

No PFTE is suggested in the instructions and as the backing plate is nylon it will render when force is applied.

Have tried PTFE but without much success, ie the backplate still comes off the pipe.

When the nut is nipped up onto the back plate the back plate and nut can be pulled straight off the pipe ie no joint.

Mira suggest buying a new one, but the design is very poor.

Any ideas chaps?

I'll talk to myself.
On the current fitting instructions an O ring is shown inside the backplate nut, this seals the pipe with the nut or should.
This was not on the instructions I have.
so that is the issue.
Not sure if I lost the O ring or whether it was missing?

I don't recall the O ring coming out of the nut when I removed it.
It is held in place in a recess in the nut so it would not fall out, but the recess is there...
