Hi,

I have a set of velux patio doors that open outwards, the son and his mate were messing about and broke the lock and now i cant open the doors..

The lock was one of those turn knob type (cheap one)

If there anyway i can get the doors open to replace the lock?

Thank you in advance

Could be the cam on the cylinder thats broke, or the mechanism - I'd lay bets on the cylinder. The cylinder will need to be destructively removed, but I'm not going to post details on how to do this - plenty of other sources available though if you search. A locksmith would have this removed in a couple of minutes, and be able to supply a suitable replacement.

Before going down the destruction route ( although you might have to).
Try pulling the cylinder with the knob and seeing if anything engages then. Could be the retaining screw is loose/lost and the cylinder is floating about.

Also a word of warning, a key/knob cylinder does not meet insurance requirements. All exit doors should have key/key operation.
