BOILER IN CELLAR ---TEMP & PRESSURE RELIEF DISCHARGE MAN

I have just purchased a pump house pump ph-5-ol-hdhw to deal with dishcharge from either main pressurised cylinder & heating system safety valve
the boiler is a keston c55 system boiler
can anybody advise how to connect safety wires on this pump to keston wiring also i have a sanicondense dealing with the boiler condensate the safety wires also need terminating

I may have to contact Keston for their advise as i also need to deal with the sanicondense if that goes on holiday unexpecdetly
Do you think it might be simpler to fit warning if pumps fail ?

Its not just the boiler to consider but the unvented cylinder. That can discharge 25 li/min if things go seriously wrong.

So if the pumping arrangement fails then I think an audible alarm is a very good idea.

TONY thanks for reply I will ask pumphouse what alarm they recommend
&fit one - wont do much good if the house owner is in the Bahamas when it goes off I think the house owner will have to accept some responsibility as it was their decision to have boiler & cylinder fitter in cellar

If the homeowner must go to the Bahamas then he should turn off the mains water supply to the house!

Until something goes wrong people dont realise just how much damage can be done.

You could rig the pump up via a contactor to shut a solinoid on the incoming water main should the pump fail. That would be ideal
 
But suppose the poump was not working because of a power failure or fault?

What would close the solenoid valve?
 
Solenoid would open when energised and be shut if no power!

Yep. Wouldn't it be a better plan to lock-out both the boiler and the water heater with a manual re-set, if the float valve operated?

Neither safety valve should discharge in normal use, and water in the tank would indicate a fault condition. The pump should not operate and there is a risk that it will be neglected and won't operate if required; altenatively, the pump isn't required and could be deleted if a manual drain could be arranged.

A small job for a smart chap with an enclosure, some relays, manual reset button and a lock-out lamp.

PS Solenoid valves are liable to fail to close, I had one fail to close when requied on a similar, though different, application. Maybe a pump should be retained.
 
you dont need a pump to stop a keston working, they do that on their own :D
